SILVER CREEK CAMPGROUND at Truckee, Truckee, California.

I've never camped here but I've been in the campground very close to the highway seems pretty noisy but very pretty I would say if you were looking for camping close to Tahoe and cheaper than being on the lake would be a pretty good spot if you could deal with all the noise it does get pretty crowded during the holiday weekends but I'm sure you can reserve the spots I see campfires there so you will be able to have campfire you should probably bring your own wood because there's a highway and then a river and the campground is in between so there's probably not much wood picking going on out there you might be able to buy wood from the camp host I would imagine you can every time I camp in California you're able to buy from the camp host it's also very close to Truckee in case you run out of supplies it's only open after Memorial Day and I think it's only open till Labor Day like I said if you can deal with the traffic noise it should be a decent spot to stay close to the lake I'm sure there's probably good fishing there be careful the kids the river seems to be pretty fast right now but they do slow it down in peak season so you could probably get your feet wet maybe not your whole body

Great spot to camp after floating the river. you have to hike down to the spot we were at but it is on the river. Only 20 bucks a night as well! Four stars because of the nosey camp host.
